The Joe Mazzone Bracket board is a minimalist take on the bracket platform longboard deck. Set this board up with G-Bomb brackets for ultimate distance performance. If you’re looking to up your distance game to a competitive level, a distance platform made for brackets is the way to do it. Everyone’s needs will be different here. The beauty behind the bracket-style longboard setup is that there is flexibility to fit those needs because every piece of the setup is modular. The Mazzone Pro platform is designed specifically for the needs of the world’s best ultra-skater. It’s just long enough for him to fit his feet end to end for switching his pushing leg, just wide enough to give him the leverage he needs for pumping while retaining a slim overall setup for pushing efficiency. This is the board that Joe used to set the world 24-hour record at the 2021 Miami Ultraskate.

Some people will surely find this board to be quite little, and it is. It is an absolute minimalist setup, with the intention of creating a board that is fully functional and also travels well. The platform itself is only 23.33 inches long. All you have to do is take the brackets off and shove them in a suitcase. Being so small, it was important that we provide solid reference points so that riders like you can feel the most important parts of the deck and know where you are at all times. This is where our Mazzone platform sets itself apart from all others before it.

The Mazzone platform deck combines very comfortable nearly flat-concave through the body with harsh flares right at the very front of the “wings” of the board. These flares act as a natural footstop, and while they’re quite intense, they’re only at the very end of the deck, so the side of your foot curls up into them, and that’s where your foot stops. It’s all very ergonomic and definitely not an intrusive concave. The shape of the deck is cut in such a way your bracket will curl up right in front of the notched mounting area, and then the wings curl up on either side, and you get a full stopping point for your foot right at the front of the deck, which is where you want to ride this thing. We made sure to give you every bit of space you would need right at the front so you can get maximum power and speed.

Be sure to couple your Joe Mazzone Bracket platform with the proper gear. We highly recommend using G-Bomb brackets. The glass brackets are the ones we had to design around, given that they have the strictest requirements with their shape. Feel free to use the DDS, DDR, Glass Bracket, and the Carbon Feather. All have been tested to work with this shape. For the rear, you can either use another bracket or any of the Torsion Tail options. Other brackets components like those from Exile Mfg in Europe have come back with mixed results, and we look forward to hearing more about their functionality and relaying that information over time.

For trucks, we generally will recommend your favorite setup pumping trucks. We are also offering a total complete with a Paris 150 50/43 setup with Seismic Speed Vents. We have tested this setup and feel that it is an extremely fun board and will definitely save you a couple of hundred bucks at least with getting started. You can bring the down the 43 degree Paris an additional 15 degrees and run it as a 28-degree truck with the front around 55-60 degrees, and you’ve got yourself a super fun board that is stable in the straights, pushes like a champ and pumps quite efficiently. It is not the top performer, but it makes for a super fun pump/push hybrid setup that doesn’t break the bank as much.

Many riders are coupling their boards with DontTrip Poppys, as does Joe! Please note that there is a difference in axle placement between the standard 55-degree Poppys and the 45-degree ones. On the 45s, the axle is placed further toward the inside of the truck holes, which makes the setup more prone to biting. Joe’s setup and other setups we tested successfully were with the 55-degree Poppys, which push further away from the board and make the deck less prone to biting. Because this board was designed around Joe and his needs, we designed the board to fit the 55-degree setup. We do not recommend running this board with 45-degree Poppys.

I really had doubts that my size 12 1/2 feet would fit just looking at it.I set it up with the gbomb brackets and speed vents. And there is a ton of room! Just got back from my first ride and the thing is magic. Fast, fun, and agile. Really looking forward to getting to know this board. Keep up the great work!

Set this up with gbomb bracket and paris front and ttx rear along with 80mm kegels. Works great on basic setting of ttx spherical in middle setting with paris set in the middle of the gbomb bracket. With a couple pushes and pumping I can further than any of my other boards. Lots of fun with this board. I also weigh 285# so it can handle the weight.

I bought this board upon release shortly after I got my first platform for LDP (a subsonic illuminati…last one ever sold on their website). Wanted to see what a smaller platform was all about. I’ve set this up with a Gbomb Glassdrop front bracket as well as a DDR bracket. I have used the DDR as a rear bracket and the glassdrop as a front bracket on this board as well. All of the configurations that I’ve tried on this are enjoyable on top of swapping between many different trucks from Dont Trip Poppy, Paris, Bear, etc, but my go-to favorite configuration for this board is currently the DDR as a front bracket, TTA as a rear fork, McFly 86mm Wheels, and a Bear Gen 6 130mm 50 degree front truck with stock plug boardside bushing and a Bones Hardcore (82A I wanna say?) roadside bushing. It is light weight and it flies! I can do my short wiggle pumps on this setup as well bigger aggressive pumps with ease! An excellent performing platform for both push and pump! The best of both worlds! I weigh 175 lbs and get a nice comfortable flex from this board. I weighed 200 lbs when I bought this board and this platform as well as the Wiggler have made it so fun for me to go out and ride that I kept riding more often and, in turn, the weight on me just disappeared over time. The graphic is beautiful and the veneer is so elegant! I love the grip design so much it makes me smile when I look down at it.

Really amazing deck. Though I’m looking to get into pumping, I’m riding it with a simple setup right now—but the Bandito is blowing me away. It rides like a magic carpet, and I’m planning on using it as my traveling board when I need to stow a board away in my luggage. I highly recommend this deck.
