The Chase Hiller complete fits nicely with our 73mm Meatballs and 150-155mm trucks or 165mm and our 66mm Sliders. You can also, of course, run the Sliders on the slimmer trucks, and the total track width of the wheels and trucks will just be a little under the max width of the board. The trucks will absolutely perform best with a bushing upgrade, as the bushings will fill the bushing seat and help reduce slop. Not required, but definitely recommended. If you order bushings on the Bear Trucks, we will include a 3D printed insert bushing on us, so that the truck continues to perform at its best.
We carry trucks from Paris and Bear for this board. Paris will be a touch more playful. Bear will be a touch more stable. Both are excellent and can be modified to perform to your liking fairly easily. Generally speaking, a 50-degree front and rear setup is ideal for riders starting out that want to learn to freeride. This will result in a tighter turning radius, making slide initiation easier at lower speed. If you’re planning to learn to downhill, you may want to reduce the truck angles just a bit, either in the rear only or in the front and rear. Paris offer trucks degrees of 50 and 43, while Bear offers trucks in degrees of 50, 40, and we’ll build 155/30s as long as we have them in stock out of our 130mm/30 stock. This is probably the only place where you’ll be able to get a 155/30. A lower degree rear truck and higher degree front will push the steering to the front of the board and increase stability. A 50/30 setup is a great way to start into downhill riding without spending a ton of money on precision machined trucks and breaking the bank.
